Privacy Policy

bqrc makes QR codes at bqrc.cc. It is made and run by one person: me, Matias Barragan. This page explains what bqrc keeps about you, where, and how to get it removed. The bstack account itself is covered by the bstack Privacy Policy. If something here is unclear, write to mati@barragan.com.py.
Without an account
Everything happens in your browser. What you type into bqrc, and the codes made from it, are never sent to me. While "Save my codes" is on (it is, until you turn it off), the codes you make are listed under My codes and kept in this browser's storage, including a Wi-Fi password if the code has one, so you can download them again. bqrc also remembers there whether you chose light or dark. Delete a code, or Delete all, and it is gone from the browser; clearing the browser's site data deletes it too, and I have no copy.
With an account
Signing in gives bqrc your bstack account ID, username and email address. bqrc keeps nothing else until you turn on "Save my codes". While it is on, each code you make is saved as you type: what you typed into it (a link, text, Wi-Fi name and, if you choose, its password, or contact details), its colors and settings, its name and the date. Styles you save keep their name and settings. bqrc also remembers whether saving is on.
This is kept in a Postgres database run by Neon, in Singapore. Vercel hosts bqrc and, like any web host, receives your IP address and the pages you open. I do not log what you type.
Deleting it
Delete one code, or Delete all, under My codes. Deletes happen at once. Database backups that may still hold the data expire within 7 days. Deleting your bstack account also deletes everything bqrc holds for it. Export all gives you a copy first.
What I don't do
No analytics, no tracking cookies, no ads, and I do not sell, rent or share your data. How bqrc makes money is on the Trust page.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the date above changes and bqrc will say so.
